好き嫌いの問題ではなくて、日本的な造形の平面性、ポップさ、キュートさ、そんなアニメーション的な要素の全てが適切な長さのビデオクリップに詰まっている。海外で村上への評価が高い理由が少し分かる気がする。Arsenale でただ長いだけの映像作品にうんざりしていたからよりいっそう心地よく感じられた。
"ラウシェンバーグから村上まで"と題し、これまでの絵画作品、平面作品を集めている。知っているものも多く、新鮮さは全く無い。絵画はもう他のものと切り離さないと扱えないのかと思うと少し淋しくなる。
