観光客が一番多くなるのが「サラエボ・フィルム・フェスティバル」の開催期間前後だ。いつもはグレーで暗い街もなんだか華やかに浮き足立ってくる。出品作品はボスニアはもちろん近隣のセルビア・モンテネグロ、スロべニア、ハンガリー、チェコ、トルコなどと日本の監督も数人とジム・ジャームッシュ作品や「カンフー・ハッスル」なんかもある。
ジム・ジャームッシュの"BROKEN FLOWERS"(2005)を見たいと思っていたのだが、チケットはすぐに売り切れなってしまったので、Hany Abu-Assad監督の"PARADISE NOW"を見る。制作はオランダ／フランス／ドイツ／パレスチナ。
パレスチナの映画もこの監督も全然知らなかったが、かなりよい。

眼だけでやりとりをする無言の間と、主人公の表情と、ほんの少しながら効果的なユーモアと、ラストのどうしようもないやりきれなさ。とても印象的でもう一度見たい。日本で公開され、多くの人に見られることを願う。
気持ちの良いオープン・エアー・シネマ、スクリーンの中のパレスチナを、サラエボの人たちはどう見ていたのだろう。
